Early education leaders recently hosted a reception for Massachusetts House Speaker Robert DeLeo (D-Winthrop) to express their gratitude for his leadership on early education. Over the past three years, the Speaker has repeatedly and publicly called upon the Commonwealth to prioritize quality early education. In 2017, the Speaker proposed and passed the largest rate reserve for early educator salaries in Massachusetts history. At the reception, Speaker DeLeo reiterated is commitment to continue prioritizing quality early education and after-school programming.
We are grateful to Speaker DeLeo for his efforts on behalf of the field and thank him for his leadership.
